Summer Holiday ‘10 day 6

Today Wayne’s parents arrive in Spain. My parents are somewhere but on the other side of Spain me thinks. But Wayne’s rents are gona be right round the corner so they’re gona come pick us up and spend the afternoon with them. The morning we chill by the pool as always and then head down to the beach. Wayne decides that he wants to do some shell hunting. WE find lots of pretty shells and put them all in my bag. They are very pretty We take them back to the hotel in preparation for Wayne’s parents arriving and give them a wash. Heading up to the pool to catch some rays before Wayne’s parents arrive. And then the phone call ‘we’re here’ so we head outside and wait for the car to pull up. They’ve been shopping which is why it took a little bit longer but food is always good. So off to the villa we go. It’s in a nice secluded area way up in the mountains. It’s still lovely and warm though. It’s a beautiful villa and the first thing we do is jump in the pool. Mmm wine and beer and pool. We chill out by the pool, wayne does some exploring and we find two little geckos in the pool. They’re so cute. See video attached by Waynos. I like gecko’s they’re very cute. I might get one tattoed… We all play in the pool with water rocker things and frisbee’s, of coure the boys play fight while Tracy and I chill out in the sun. before we know it, it’s dinner time and we have some pizza and salad and chips. Yum. After a very filling dinner and some wine we play cards and chill out. I never lose so I’m sure I win every game Soon it’s time to head home. If we didn’t have Gibraltar tomorrow we would love to stay but tomorrow is the biggest adventure so far.

Today is a very chilled day. We get up for breakfast and go and chill out by the pool for most of it. Mmm sleeping in the sun is the best pastime ever. Eventually we start to get very hot and sweaty and decide that we’ll head out for a walk. Wayne wants to check out the harbour we saw when we were on the pedalo so we start walking. On our way out of the hotel we pass the poor ponies giving carriage rides to people. They look so hot and no water to drink or food to eat. Poor ponies. So off we go and we keep on walking. We find a car park, and head on through it. We can see the boats so we know we’re in the right place. We head out towards the ocean passing all the cars, but there are barriers in the way and we can’t make our way through Wayne tries to jump it but me and my flip flops aren’t so confident. We head out as far as we can but don’t make it around all the really posh boats. Heading back home for some more sun soaking then out to dinner. We go to a nice italian restaurant on the street. We can see the beach and ocean from here. We look up and everybody is standing by the water. Very much a ‘is it a whale? is it a shark? no it’s a…?’ We never got to find out what it was but something made everybody stir. Anyways back to dinner. Nom nom nom. Pizza and carbonara. We decide afterwards to walk out on the man made rock pier. We get some lovely pics and videos of the waves crashing down upon the rocks. It’s mesmerising. So we walk down the street some more, the opposite way this evening to the first night. We see a guy making crocodiles out of sand. It’s very cool. We walk past the little market stalls and the looky looky men. Tis a nice relaxed evening. So we head back in for some more drinkies and more rummy.

Summer Holiday ‘10 day 4

So we’ve decided to get up early and start making the most of our days. We got the stuff for our excursions and decided we’d take the first one.

The trip to the zoo. It has a name but I’m sure Wayne will remember better than I do. So we head out. Our rep Dan says it’s only a short walk from here so we should be fine. So we head out following the signs for the zoo. it’s a long walk and we pass a few… sex shops? :s Following down the main high street we keep on track with the street signs. It’s baking hot but we persevere. We pass a few buildings and signs that point us in the right direction but something seems odd. We keep walking in the direction the last sign told us to but this doesn’t seem right… eventually we get out the map and realise we’re right on top of the zoo but need to go back the way we came. Confused.com. We find a little scenic area, like a picnic park with some water running through it.
It’s really sweet and we find some tadpoles (my speciality) in the water. After a few munchies (we brought crisps and bread we head back and pass a burger king and hey presto it’s the place we passed with the giant flags outside of it! So we head on in and get our discounted tickets and head on inside. We follow the zoo map (I’ve had enough of getting lost for one day) and turn left as we walk in. First up some pretty african birds or something like that
and then the aligators.

They look good from above and I like to keep it that way but Wayne heads down a little turning. He’s so gona get eaten. I find him down there and it looks like he’s in with the aligators. Thank god there’s glass in between. Must find out what the cleaners use for
that glass. So we head on round up a little hill and see some more animals. We pass monkeys and meercats and hippos. All very cool.

Following the path we find the tiger enclosure. There’s a tiger pacing up and down going crazy but it’s nice to see them active as they’re normally sleeping. We follow round the cornere to see some more tigers ans low and behold…

Dirty little buggers. Anyways… we head on around
and decide to go see one of the shows, or maybe the only show… we sit right at the front sort of in the middle (thank you Mr English tour guide man). It’s amazing, we see real live animals up close, birds flying above our heads (i duck a lot) get it, duck – birds
hahaha I’m so funny (hmmm lol u crack me up – waynos). But it’s really cool. We head back round more of the park and some random singing tribe with bongos walk past us dancing.. weird anyway into the reptile bit we see snakes and scary things as well as some killer frogs. They’re tiny. So we’ve run
out of animals to see, we’re quite efficient when we go out and it’s mid afternoon. We passed a BK on the way in so after playing about in the souvenirs shop we head back out to find some food – fast. Haha more bad humour. It looks like a 60’s diner I’m not gona lie. Very odd but retro. They sell food I don’t care lol.

So after some refreshments and our fair share or terrible food we head back to the hotel. We manage not to get ourselves lost but pass a few more sex shops… We don’t go in, this isn’t amsterdam. we get a few rays of sun in at the pool but then head back out for some more munchies. and we come back with alcohol oops.. So a few drinks later and we’ve reinvented, Rummy hehehe. It’s a good night.

Summer Holiday ‘10 day 3

So… it’s up at the usual cryptic couple time of something in the afternoon lol. We decide to do a bit more exploring today.

We sit in the room finalising our list of excursions and counting out all our money ready to book things and then head out. We meet Dan downstairs, morning! then we head on out for another glorious day of sunshine . We decide to spend some time at the beach and after laying in the baking sun for about an hour we decide a cool off with a pedalo ride is just what we need. So we speak to the man and a few minutes later we’re pedaling out into the ocean on a nice blue boat with a cool slide… Eeek Watch out for
sharks!

We realise about half way out that neither of us actually like sea water. It makes my skin itch and Wayne is just… fussy lol sorry
huni. (noo, lol its cos I don’t like jelly fish because i was stung by one once ) So we go out as far as we’re ’supposed’ to go and then decidethat a little further wont matter hehe we love to push the boundaries and be rebellious. We pedal around in all directions and then let it just drift and take us whilst we chill in the sun. We see a random apple floating by…it’s a bit random but it’s just there lol Weird. We have some more fun just chilling around and Wayne decides that he wants to go to the end of one of the piers at some point where all the boats are. Whatever you say huni. We start to head back in as our time is nearly up and without sliding down the slide of our pedalo which is the entire point it’s getting just a little too hot. So of course, we head back to where we left our stuff in the sand. Phew, it’s still there. We pack up and head back to the hotel. The pool at our hotel is much quieter and so we chill out there for the rest of the day. I’m reading and Wayne is listening to music and playing on his iPhone. Soon the sun starts to go in and we decide that we’ll go get ready for dinner. Yum yum yum dinner time and as usual we take
a little walk out afterwards and then head upstairs. we have lots of fun hehe.

Summer Holiday ‘10 day 2

So we’re up sort of early. We have to meet our rep for the
holiday and look around the hotel. We meet our rep, he’s a really
ncice guy but we find out later in the holiday that he’s an Arsenal
fan. It’s all down hill from here lol. So we meet Dan by the sofas
and we are the only people thre until a few more couples and
families turn up. He gives us maps and the excursions list. So many
things to do and we hope to do all of them. hmm trip to gibralta
and zoo sounds cool! After the meeting we decide to explore the
hotel so one of the first things we do is take a trip up in the
lift, all the way up to the top floor. My stomach goes so much but
its a nice view from the pretty glass elevator :s so after my
stomach feels like it a about to drop out and we’ve explored the
hotel and the spa on the ground floor we go for a walk around
town. We check out the gloriuos beachs and the little shops in the
left direction. Whoop we find a mercadona (supermarket) and grab
some rolls, ham and Philadelphia and water of course to keep us
going. Yum. its the worst layout ever of supermarket we actually
got a bit lost in there.. any way back to the hotel for a bit of
lunch. We chill out for the day down by the pool then and wait for
dinner to roll around. Tis a nice buffet. It’s chinese night, tis
very yum. After dinner we head out for a walk in the opposite
direction to this afternoon. I.e turn right out of the hotel. We
walk for as far as we can go across a nice bridge in the bright
sunshine, we take a few pictures and and find an old fort up on the
cliffside. We go exploring and it’s closed so we’re not allowed to
go in. But we find a big sign on the side of the hill on the way
down and take some pics of Waynos. He’s such a poser. So we walk
back in the sunset and it’s lovely, so nice and warm. Once we get
back we sit in the bar. I ask the Woman for a cocktail of anything
and I get one (edit by wayne, ahem i beleive you said anything as
long as it has alchomohol LOL ). Whoop. Tis yum. And after some
seranding from the Hotels cheesy band we head up to bed to get some
rest (some rest) for tomorrow’s advenutre.

Summer Holiday ‘10 day 1

It’s another lazy start for the cryptic couple, but we’re
getting packed and ready for our summer holiday!!! so excited!!
Everything has all been ready, tickets, passport, Lolliphant So
we head out to Gatwick in the Cupra and get ready for our journey.
We arrive at Gatwick and after some rushing around we make it to
the summer speacial car park. At least we’re in the right place So we leave the car (waynes worried about anyone else driving it lol ) and wait for our bus to the north terminal. Whoop we’re in and after
some speedy check in by the cryptic couple we’re soon waiting in
the terminal for our flight. We have a little walk about and do our usual, stare at the exotic cars you can win in a raffle and play about at the gadgets in the electric store then we head down to our departure terminal. We are of the first people down there.
Tick tock tick tock, we wanna get on the plane like asap!! Whoop
finally our rows are called and on to the plane we go. Let’s have
some fun. After some gruelling time on the aeromplanes we finally
land in Spain! It’s a very nice airport, and we’re having a look
around while waiting for our bags. We’re soon out and on our private mini bus that will drop us to our hotel We’re like the second or third one. It doesn’t matter we just can’t wait. Soon we’re off the bus and
checking into the hotel. It looks beautiful, time to look around
tomorrow but for now we’re ready to get going to bed. The lift
scares us both, we’re only on the 2nd floor but the glass elevator
makes my stomach go. Into the room we go and it’s lovely. We push
the TWO beds together to make one and curl up. The tv welcomes us

Wales trip – the drive down

Ok so we left my house in full swing ready for the long journey to Wayne’s g parents house. Driving happily down the m4 commenting on all the poor drivers that won’t move out the way.

Wayne’s starting to get hungry and will pull into a services to get a burger king. It’s 9:08 and a sign states it closes at 9. Well that’s no good to us. Next services, we’ll pull in again to get a hot meal. Next bk we pull in.it closes at 10 and we show the bloke our phones and the time. 5 to ten! The bloke says it’s 10 and wont serve us. insert *inappropriate curse word here* Wayne’s going mad, we just want some food. So in the end we stop in to WHSmiths and stack up on sweets. Nom nom nom, milkways and fruit pastels!!

Waynos got a twix and a fanta and some chrisps Just as we sat in the car to set off, in the sky we could see some bright lights in the distance… then there were more, it was like an alien UFO attack… we finally realised it was a load of those chinease burning lantern floating things and there were literally 30 of them it looked so cool! Fran gets her camera out to take a picture but the pics didnt come out to well, this was before the days of the 4.0 iPhone software and Fran had a clever camera app which could zoom, but still this didnt get a good picture, so we watched and enjoyed it anyway was v pretty.

So back on the road we go for another long drive. Wayne’s telling me to try and stay awake, man it’s so hard. That’s when i started writing this, took a lot of spell checking lol. So yeh and after taking some ridiculous back roads we finally arrive at the g-rents house. It’s beautiful and Wayne ruins it with his loud engine, as always. Waking up the whole neighbourhood. G rents come to the door, bless them they’ve been waiting up for us. so we go in and say hi but we don’t stay up for long. we have the whole weekend to have adventures. So after some refreshments and introductions we head to bed… Mmm bed this could be fun until tomorrow, the fun begins.

Venice Day 4

Day 4 I don’t wanna get up. No I won’t get up. Turn your
stupid alarm off… Ok so Wayne’s alarm has just gone off at some
stupid o’clock in the morning to get us up to go home.

It’s only 8am but I’m so tired. Ahhh panic packing to get ready to check out of the hotel. Have we got everything yes. Other than the umbrella
(it wouldn’t fit in the suitcase. Sad Fran). Down the steps and
across the bridge to the reception. ‘did you have anything from the
mini bar?’ erm no. Phew that was good, no minibar charges but sorry
for the next person who drinks out of the water bottles. Ok so
running round the streets of Venice looking for the souvenirs
thatvi want so bad. Damn can’t find anything I like so we start
thinking about getting to the airport. Taxi methinks but on the
water. High speed boat time. Wayne and his poor Italian ask the guy
to take us to the airport. ‘how much!’ €95 fucking euros! Jeez. Ok
well we need to get there quick. Jump in the boat, damn I hit my
head. That hurt. Funsies in the back of the water taxi and we’re
waving goodbye to the last views of Venice. Walking down to the
airport, 7 minutes according to the signs. Phew at least we have
plenty of time now. Looking up at the board to find what desk we
need to go to, we see our flight and head to the check-in desk.
Business class whoo hoo! But we’re not sat together well that’s
no fun. Never mind. ‘you may use the private lounge area’ says the
check in lady. Cool, but first to the shops. Hold up, security
first and we get our own priority lane. Through security trying to
look innocent (like that’s possible) *beep beep* damn. Searched
with some crazy cloth methinks they are looking for drugs. I’ve
never done drugs in my life so this should be fun. Searched my bag
and on a machine to test for drugs, i’m all clear (see I am
inocent). Waiting up for Wayne to redress himself (he was wearing a
metal belt) we head to some shops to look for some souvenirs. Hmm I
can’t decide but I’m gonna keep looking. Finding a little newsagent
type thing I get myself a nice factory made Venecian mask. Looks
pretty in blue. Some sweeties for the plane to keep Wayne happy and
we hea to the lounge. Wow it’s chilled out in here. Free food and
drink and newspapers and wifi. Very nice. Hmm Italian big brother.
This could get funny. And low and behold 2 minutes after sitting
down a fight breaks out inthe big brother house. Wish we understood
what they were arguing about. Chilling out Wayne thinks it’s time
we go to our gate. Show everyone that we’re in business class and
get called first that kind of thing. So we wait as they haven’t
called us yet but then people start to be called. Where was the
priority boarding? Hmmm no where. So Wayne being Wayne drags us up
to the front and we get to push in front of everyone else. My face
went bright red, I’m used to be with all the people we just made
wait behind us. Ok we’re nearly through and no Wayne’s being
searched, stupid grunger back pack hahaha. Ok so we’re walking down
to business class. I could get used to this. Hmm let’s plan how to
do this, in sat behind Wayne just leaning over and gettig our heads
on the way of the aisle. We planned to ask the people who were sat
next to us to swap but we both chickened out. So once the plan was
up in the air and the seat belt signs were off I moved next to a
nice english couple who had a spare seat next to them and in the
aisle next to Wayne. Hmmm game time, playing the golf game that I
have on my iPhone. Wayne’s winning a lot, well this is no fun but
soon enough the air hostessbis coming through with drinks. We’ll
take the champagne please hey hey. Not long after foods coming out.
Well Wayne’s just so fussy I know he won’t have anything but I had
a beautiful beef stew. Mmm nice and full I’m nice enough to split
my hotel chocolat desert with Wayne. Ok back to playing golf and
I’m getting very annoyed that I keep losing. Boo.com. Wow times
gone fast and it’s nearly time to land and the captain announces
it’s raining in England. Well I didn’t expect anything less to be
honest. Ok so here we go ready to land and touch down. Typical
wayne’s got his seat belt off and is hovering in his seat ready to
get going. I don’t think so, driving round gatwick in the aeroplane
finding our ‘parking spot’. Whoop here we go, getting off the plane
and straight to immigration. Wow for once no queues. That must be a
first. Staring at the board, waiting to find out what carousel our
bag is on, carousel 4. Straight down the stairs and right by the
belt waiting for our bag I give my dad a quick call make sure he’s
actually coming to pick us up. Result, he’s here waiting for us so
now it’s just the bag. Double quick, 3 seconds later our bag is
here. Down to departures to meet dad. Short drive later and we’re
home. Stuff upstairs to my room and we’re getting ready to relax.
Luncheon time here we come. I want some cheese on toast and Wayne
has a ham and cheese toastie and some ice cream. Hmm sit down on
the sofa movie on and it’s the hangover. So so funny. Ok so done
with that we started sorting out our next movie for the afternoon
‘the ugly truth’. Rather chick flicky but still good and had some
laughs. so the day of rest comes to an end and it’s back to work
the following day. But as always it’s been another amazing Cryptic
adventure.

Venice day 2

Ok so we woke up in Venice to some strange noises. Wayne thought I was doing it in my sleep but clearly not. Searching round the room for hidden cameras that may have video our late night antics we weren’t successful.
We missed breakfast because Wayne was feeling lazy but had an early taster of tonights desert
So getting up and dressed to face a day in Venice. Walking through San Marco and taking lots of pictures we walked around the square looking very much like tourists. Taking some back streets we managed to get ourselves lost, good thing we had the map the receptionist gave us last night. Finding some market stalls down the little back streets we came to a dead end. We were at the docks for all the boats to take passengers to other islands or to get the full view of Venice. We turned back and found a bin. On it? A poster directing to McDonalds. Well I was starving as we’d had no breakfast so went on the search. It was just past the Rialto, so we headed towards the most famous bridge in Italy, in search of McDonalds we found the bridge and took some pics and looked at the pretty shiny things they had for sale in the shops, on a bridge! Off we go, down some more back streets, Wayne got us lost but we found out way with the map (google maps is terrible out here) and headed in the ‘right’ direction. After a long time of walking and finding some more bins with directions to the only McDonalds in Venice we found it. Looks busy but I’m starving so we go in. Mmm foodings. I had my usual but Wayne had something new… Crispy bacon burger with cheese. Hmmm they need to sell these in the UK. Scoffing McD’s we head back out on to the street but it’s raining. Wayne has a hood but I don’t and i’m starting to look likes drowned rat. We stumble across some umbrellas, €8! F*ck off! Wayne says let’s run but I don’t fancy spending the weekend in jail so into the shop to pay then back out onto the street to find our way back to San Marco. Hmm this is difficult. Several wrong turning’s but we finally make it back cold and a bit wet. We see a queue for the basilicia and head towards it. Having to walk across the raised walk ways because the square is partially flooded we head inside. O no, it’s flooded in here too. Skip hop and jump we’re in and as we walk inside I can’t believe my eyes. How beautiful! Wayne ignores the ‘no pictures sign’ while I stare up towards the beautiful gold leaf ceiling. We take a walk round discussing religion and such like before we start to get cold and decide to head back to the hotel room. It’s not as flooded as last night so me and my uggs are safe to walk across the bridges and down the alleys to the hotel. Hmm I fancy a bubble bath so Wayne kindly got the hot water on, bath gel poured in and in I get. Was so nice and warm and so relaxing and I even got the have a glass of champagne while I was in there. Dried off it’s now Wayne’s turn but the bubbles are far and few between. Ooops my bad. Never mind eh. So both of us washed and cleaned watching the news, we hear something. Not our recording again :s nope next doors tv and some desperate moaning from whatever woman is in there getting some. Ok well at least we know there’s no cameras in our room now but this just isn’t right. Forgetting Sarah Marshall style, well…

Wayne has a headache too much champagne methinks. Open the window to cool him down while I write this to update the blog. Sleepy Wayne looks so cute. Will update the rest of our day later but for now cuddles and afternoon sleeps listening to the sounds of Venice outside the window. And Wayne’s snoring.

Ok so two hours later we finally got up and dressed ready for some dinner. We walked around town and down some back streets looking for some dinner. A few wrong turns and dead ends later we found a nice little restaurant and sat down for some dinners. Well you’d think we’d be bored now but I had carbonara and Wayne had a prosciutto ham pizza same old same old. Ok so a nice walk back round San Marco making our way back to the hotel room. Well… Night night x

Venice day 1

Waking up earlyish on Friday due to my hotness and not being able to sleep, much to Frans discomfort the excitement was soon kicking in. It’s about 9 am but we are still in bed… No need to wake up. It’s such a great feeling knowing everyone else is in work haha.

Fran still had some packing to do and I needed travel insurance ! So I jumped on the laptop and managed to sort it within 5 mins whoo

Breakfast time, and it was pancake time, I only had one though but Fran had about 4 lol

Last minute preparations before we leave and stuffing everything into the suitcase ready for the drive down to Gatwick. Frans stuff all rolled up and squeezed between my semi nearly folded clothes.

Right, into the car we go, frans dad kindly offering to take us. Not much traffic so we were ok, until he missed the Gatwick turn off. We had to take a detour but it was all good in the end, we made it to the north terminal.

As soon as we got inside it was straight over British airways self service kiosks where we could print our boarding passes. Job done in less than 2 minutes. We then checked in our bag and strolled straight through security.

Still hungry we headed towards WHsmith for snacks but we had to stop because there was a ferrari and Audi r8 parked on the stand to win one of the super-cars on offer. What a perfect time to pull out elephant for a quick pic on the ferrari. Was tempted to buy a raffle ticket but it’s too much money.

Now we are waiting for our Gate number number to be called / shown on screen. Then I’ll update this as today’s progresses.

Ok. We are on the plane! There was a delay because the security doors at boarding kept closing but it’s fine, we are on!

We also took a trip to boots to get some luxury eye damagers. 24 for £10 not bad lol.

Landed safe in Venice! There was a bloke sick on the plane was just wrong :s but we kept ourselves busy by playing monopoly (I lost) and a 3d golf game

The bloke next to us was sleeping the whole way so when it was safe I manged to get a picture of elephant looking out of the window.

After getting off the plane and getting the bag we had to source a vaperetto ticket for the water taxi across to the main island. It’s currently raining and we are under shelter in the boat stop.

The boat felt like it took ages, Stopping at 3 other stops before eventually pulling into st marco.
We got off the boat at about 9:00 ish and I already knew the way into the square over a few bridges.

It wasn’t raining but there was some surface water and the main walkways were pathed With raised platforms for us to walk on. As we went passed the main tower on the ground there was a mass puddle which we both splashed in and got slightly soaked lol.

I got the iPhone out loaded google maps and made sure 3g and data roaming was on. The GPS position was slightly out but I set the route to our hotel and we entered some back streets just off the main square. So far so good…

After battling the map and getting hopelessly lost it now being 9:45 despite our hotel only being 2 mins walk from the square I was eventually persuaded to seek help frm a waiter at a restaurant we saw earlier in the night.

He didn’t really know but luckily enough his mate did and we were finally at the hotel just one minute after my 10:00 predicted time. We entered the hotel and it was lovely. We checked in and the concierge took our bag and we walked out of the main complex to another building where our room was, it was on the second floor, room 612.

We had to take the elevator but once the doors opened there was our room directly opposite. We were shown into our room and then left to have a look round on our own.

There was champagne on the bed waiting for us but we were so hungry we just wanted to get out of the room we spent ages looking for lol.

As we were just getting settled we heard sirens like in the blitz! This was a flood warning noise and even tho it had been raining we saw no signs of this… Yet

Ok, off to dinner the logical place to have dinner was the restaurant where the waiter helped us about 15 mins ago, so we went back there.

The waiter was shocked and though we were lost again but we explained we just wanted to eat after a long journey so we sat down in the empty restaurant and had the place to our selves.

We were served straight away which was pretty good and seeing as we were the only ones in there i should of hoped so to we shared a ham pizza and chips and literally was in and out within 30 mins, we needed sleep!

Walking out from the resteraunt and turning the corner to be met by 3 Italians making a fuss over something… it turned out to be that the route we needed to take was slightly flooded in about 5 inches of water where the canal had come up and over the bank… joy!

I walked through and got slightly wet feet but where was Fran? Round the corne screaming lol, so with the Italian folk cheering me on i done the hiroic thing and went back for the lady in distress, she climbed aboard and i walked back through the flooded path with a lot of praise from the locals.

Finally back to the hotel and time to check out the room, we collapsed in bed.
